Christmas is around the corner and Kris Kringles are certainly everywhere. So, I just wanna share my most recent purchase that I classify as “Something Cute”

This is a lampshade bottle I bought in my favorite gift and novelty store. Price is 129.75 PHP. There are other versions of this one still available. I just chose this coz red is my fave. color.

Sweet Comfort

Splendor

It’s just you and me again… Let me indulge in your sweetness. Take away my sadness. Accompany me in this lonely night.

Significant Other

Everything has been created in pairs. Yin and Yang. Darkness and Light. Land and Water. Right and Left.

A spoon for a fork… Food for plate…  Every one seems to have another.

And as I secretly glance at your hand on the table, longing to hold it and feel your warmth… How I wish that you could be the one for me… If only…

Three Love Stories: Fourth Year HS

Previously…

“We were no longer classmates and dahil doon nabawasan ang time namin together. He began having new friends. And I, started missing him. Ako naman ang nagselos sa mga bago niyang kaibigan.”

Senior year began at naging classmates kami ulit ni Z. We were both in the cream section, as every one else has expected. Gayunpaman, hindi pa rin kami ok until I took the courage to make the move.

***

It was the night of my birthday celebration. I was a bit nervous. Darating kaya siya? It was a big risk to invite him tonight. Pero tinanggap niya naman yung invitation and he even smiled.

Nasa kalagitnaan pa rin ako ng pag-aagam-agam nang marinig ko ang excited na mga boses at tuksuhan ng aking mga bisita. Napalingon ako sa may pinto.

There he is… Handsome as ever. When he met my eyes, he smoothly approached me and handed his gift.

From then on, we became close again and almost inseparable. Back to being seatmates, project partners, groupmates and friends.

***

Dahil nga sa close na kami ulit… we both know the secrets of each other. Well, almost. Di ko naman kasi kayang sabihin sa kanya ang lahat like my feelings for him.

I remember a time when nakiusap siya sa akin na iabot sa nililigawan niya yung framed poem seatwork namin sa isang subject. Self- composed niya yung poem. Maganda at talagang pinaghirapan even the design and frame. It was so heart-breaking pero tiniis ko.

Na-late kasi kami. Kakainis!

If only I could turn back time… I’ll dance with him na talaga!

***

College came. Medyo nakakalungkot kasi nagkahiwalay na kami ni Z. But I was so glad na at least we are in the same university. We still keep in touch but not as frequent as the usual. Nakaka-miss…

To be continued…

Our Island Cove Adventure

It is Raj’s first birthday and because we wanted to make it special, we decided to divert from the usual kiddie birthday parties. Yeah, you’re right. No Jollibee, McDonald’s, clowns and magicians. Instead, the three of us – me, Raj and his dad, went to Cavite to have some fun in Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park.

From Manila, the trip to Island Cove would  take about two to three hours depending on the traffic situation. We arrived there at around lunch time so we filled our stomachs first before checking in at the hotel.
We board on an electric-powered tram which took us to our preferred dining venue which was the Fishing Village. We agreed to have our lunch there then we’ll have the dinner later on the other restaurant which is Sangley Point.

Food in Fishing Village was great. The grilled catfish was served fresh and crispy. The sizzling sisig was appetizing and so is the ensaladang talong. Not only did we enjoy the food but also the ambience and soothing atmosphere brought by the waters surrounding the place.

Enjoy fishing and dining. Seafoods served fresh here.

After enjoying a delightful lunch in Fishing Village, we checked in and took a nap. Then we went to Oceania Park where the swimming pools and slides are located. We had a quick swim then head off again to the hotel and prepared ourselves for a dinner in Sangley Point.

The following day, we went to Animal Island. There we saw different kinds of animals. From the very tamed ones to wild ones. We explored the place through a calesa (horse-drawn carriage).

Before riding the calesa, however, we already spent some time in the Petting Zoo which was located just beside the Zootique near the entrance. When the calesa came for our tour, we went to the Aviary and Butterfly farm. As much as I wanted to shoot some photos at the butterflies, I just can’t seem to catch them. So, I just didn’t. Anyway, after that, we proceeded to the cages of other animals like the tiger, ostrich and bear cat.

And so we rode the calesa again and was transported to the last stop which is the monkey and crocodile farm. According to the staftf, there are 157 crocodiles in the farm. These crocodiles became so many just because they were being bred there. Also, there are lots of ostrich in the Animal Island, I just wasn’t able to ask their total population. Anyway, it’s in crocodile farm where we took photos and got a chance to hold the crocodile.

To be honest, I never really planned of holding the crocodile. But because of a few teasing, I got convinced and even had some photos taken as I hold the croc. Well, just have a look at the gallery above for the evidence.

Noon came and we had our lunch again at the Fishing Village. There, the staff serenaded us with the song “Close to Heaven”. After that, they also sang “Happy Birthday” for the celebrant, Raj.

It was a great experience staying at Island Cove Hotel. The accommodation, ammenities and foods are fabulous. The rates are affordable. I bet families would enjoy having a break in this not-so-far from the city hotel.

And so, I’d like to extend my gratitude to the staff and management of Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park for the warmth and friendly service. We had a wonderful stay. Thanks a lot… :-)

Farewell President Aquino

“Today I woke up from a dream into a nightmare,” said Congressman Teddy Boy Locsin Jr. in an interview in national tv.

I sympathize with him for truly it is hard to imagine Philippines without a Cory Aquino.

Yes, the woman who restored democracy to this country has passed away today at 3:18 in the morning in Makati Medical Center. Her pains has come to an end in the age of 76.

President Corazon Aquino in Time magazine Although many are grateful that at least former President Corazon Aquino will no longer suffer the pains of her colon cancer, a lot are still grieving hard because admittedly, she is a big loss to the country.

I grew up in this world having President Aquino as my first president. I was so young when I first heard about her. A name always associated with EDSA People Power Revolution. And, as I start school, I learned more about her and even idolized her hoping that someday, I too, will be a Philippine woman president. She inspired me that much.

Imagine, she was just a housewife before of the brave Sen. Benigno Aquino. A soft-spoken intelligent lady who led the nation and restored democracy. Many be-littled her and questioned her capabilities. Yet now, it is this woman who continue to influence people to be vigilant and fight for the country’s freedom.

So, how can one say goodbye to this great leader? How can one bid farewell to this strong woman without shedding a tear?

I guess even if I tie a million yellow ribbons here in my place, they won’t be enough to show how grateful I am for the democracy that Cory gave this country… They won’t be enough to show how deep my grief is for her death.

Farewell my beloved President Aquino. Thank you very much for always being a light to the Filipinos. You may be gone but you’ll always stay in our hearts. Your life and memories shall continue to inspire us and guide us to the right path.

Working at Home

After more than two years, I’ve decided to resign from my company. No, it’s not because I was forced to or I don’t like it there anymore. In fact, I enjoyed my stay there in USAP. People there are really nice and of course the compensation and benfits are highly competitive. It’s just that, I wanted to explore some alternatives.

So, it’s official. I’m now working from home.

gotalaptopMy first day in this new set-up was quite confusing. When I woke up in the morning, I didn’t know what to do. I was used to waking up, having breakfast then dress-up for work. But in that first morning when I no longer have an ‘office’ to go to, my daily routine suddenly got destroyed.

Well, I already expected before that my routine will really change. Yet, it seemed that in that morning, I wasn’t prepared. Now, I’m starting to get used to it already.

So what are the good things I discovered with this set-up…

  • No need for daily ‘baon’ and transportation allowance. My lunchbox has finally retired.
  • Very comfortable work place
  • No need to wake up soooo early
  • No need to worry what to wear for work. in fact you could work even in undies only. But of course, I don’t do that.

Although there are lots of good things in working at home, there are also some not-so-good ones. Like the SSS and Philhealth benefits which I’ll have arranged by next month. I gotta declare that I’m self-employed. Apart from that, there are also lots of distractions at home which are sometimes too hard to avoid.  The people, the bed and the tv. Beware of those three.

That’s it. Ooops, gotta go. I have to check my mail for my next tasks. bye.
